Push Notifications: Setup and What You'll See
Get real-time alert notifications on your device - even when the app isn't open.
Table of Contents
Enabling Push Notifications
On first launch, your device will show a system prompt asking permission to send you notifications. Tap Allow to enable push notifications for PowerRadar.
If you tapped Don't Allow: Go to your device's Settings → find PowerRadar in the app list → Notifications → turn on Allow Notifications. You can also enable push from within the app — see Disabling Push Notifications below.
From within the app, push notifications are controlled in Preferences. Tap Preferences in the bottom tab bar, then tap the Push notifications row under the Notifications section.

The chip shows the current state: Enabled (green) or Disabled (gray). Tap the row to toggle between them.
What a Push Notification Looks Like
When an alert fires, PowerRadar sends a push notification to your device. It appears as a banner on your lock screen and in your notification center.

Each notification shows:
- The alert title
- The trigger description - the condition that fired the alert (e.g. Device idling at 55.1 kW)
- The PowerRadar app icon
- The time the notification arrived

Tapping a Notification
Tapping a push notification opens the PowerRadar app directly to the alert detail screen for that alert. You don't need to navigate through the app to find it.
If the app was already open, you will be taken to the alert detail screen from wherever you were.
Disabling Push Notifications
To turn off push notifications, go to Preferences → tap the Push notifications row. The chip changes from Enabled to Disabled.

You can also mute push for a single alert without turning off all notifications - see Muting Push for a Single Alert.
When You Sign Out
Push notifications are linked to your device. When you sign out of the app, your device is unregistered from push notifications - you will not receive any further alerts on that device until you sign back in and push notifications are re-enabled.
