What Is the TimeView Assistant?

What is it?

Panoramic AI is the AI built into PowerRadar. Its first tool is the TimeView Assistant - a chat panel inside TimeView. You type a question about your site, the way you'd ask a colleague, and it answers using the same data you see in your TimeView charts.

The Assistant is read-only. It looks up and explains your data, but it can't change settings, alerts, devices or anything else in your account.

Why use it?

  • Get to an answer without building a chart first - for example, "Which categories used the most energy this month?"
  • Find equipment by name, even if you don't know where it sits in the device tree.
  • Spot your biggest consumers and the devices whose usage changed the most.
  • Keep asking follow-up questions in the same conversation without starting over.

What It Can Do

Finds equipment

Locate any device by name across your site - by device type, group or panel. It handles typos and partial names, and can list what's inside a category or group.

Measures power, energy and cost

Get totals, averages and peaks for a single device, a category or your whole site, over the time period you ask about.

Looks at circuits and current

See a device's circuits, phases and sensors, and ask about current (amps) - for example, when a phase went above a level you set, or which circuits drew the most current.

Ranks and compares

See your top and bottom consumers, compare this week to last week or this month to last month, and find the devices or categories that changed the most.

Shows trends and patterns

Ask how usage moved over a day or a week, when a peak happened, or how a device's typical daily pattern looks.

Uses your schedule

Ask about energy used during or outside working hours. The Assistant uses your site's operating schedule. If your site has no schedule set up, it asks you which hours to use.

Projects your month

Ask for a projected cost for the month. The Assistant gives a straight-line projection based on the cost recorded so far this month.

Works like a conversation

Ask follow-up questions like "How does the top one compare to last week?" - the Assistant remembers what you've talked about in that conversation.

Where to Find It

  1. Open a site and go to TimeView.
  2. Click the Panoramic AI button (the orange sparkle icon) at the top-right of the TimeView toolbar.

The Panoramic AI panel opens next to your chart.

For a full walkthrough of the panel, see Using the TimeView Assistant.

Who Can Use It

Before you start:

  • Optimize sites only. Panoramic AI is part of the Optimize package. Sites on Visualize don't show the Panoramic AI button. To take part, speak with your Panoramic Power partner about upgrading.
  • Turned on for your site. An admin turns Panoramic AI on for each site in Settings → AI Settings. See Managing AI Settings for Your Account and Sites.
  • Monthly allowance. Each site has a shared monthly AI allowance. See AI Usage and Monthly Allowance.

Once it's on for a site, every user with access to that site can use the Assistant.

What's in the Beta

The TimeView Assistant is in beta. We're opening a limited number of beta seats through the end of 2026, released in batches.

Request your seat

Available now

  • One site at a time.
  • Power, energy, cost and current (amps) data from your Panoramic sensors.
  • Circuits and phases for each device.
  • Finding equipment, totals, rankings, comparisons, trends, daily and weekly patterns.
  • Working-hours questions based on your site schedule.
  • Month-end cost projections.
  • Follow-up questions within a conversation.
  • Voice input on the web (Chrome, Edge and Safari).
  • Chat history for each site.
  • Thumbs up / thumbs down feedback on every answer.

Recently added

  • October 18, 2026 — Circuit and current analysis. Ask about a device's circuits and phases, and about current (amps): totals, trends, threshold questions, comparisons and rankings. Weekly summaries now also point out when usage or cost rose.
  • October 4, 2026 — The TimeView Assistant beta opens.

Coming during the beta

  • More measurements.
  • Longer-range analysis.
  • Spike detection.
  • Meter and logger support.
  • Answers drawn directly from the PowerRadar Help Center.

We'll update this section as new capabilities are added.

Good to Know

Heads up:

  • Check important answers. AI can make mistakes. Before you act on a number, check it against your TimeView chart.
  • One site per conversation. The Assistant only answers about the site you're on. It can't compare one site to another.
  • Power, energy, cost and current for now. It can tell you whether a device has voltage, power factor or other measurements, but you'll need the TimeView chart to view them.
  • Not a how-to guide yet. For "How do I…" questions about PowerRadar, it points you to the Help Center.
  • English. The Assistant is designed for questions in English. Other languages aren't officially supported yet.
