Events Timeline in TimeView
TimeView now has its own Events Timeline - the same events you used to check in Legacy TimeView, rebuilt directly into the chart, with a few real upgrades along the way.
What Changed
What changed
Until now, the events timeline = the record of planned work, incidents, and alerts plotted against your energy data -only existed in Legacy TimeView. It's now built into TimeView, redesigned to sit directly on the chart instead of in a separate row underneath it, with clustering for busy periods, filtering by type/severity/status, and a faster way to log a new event.
Why it matters
If you've been switching to Legacy TimeView just to check what happened around a spike or dip, you no longer need to. Everything that was there is now in TimeView - plus a cleaner way to see it.
Seeing Events on Your Chart
Events now render directly on the TimeView chart, along the bottom axis and aligned to the same time window as your energy data -there's no separate events row underneath the chart anymore.
Each event shows as a small colored circle, marked with a letter for its type:
- A - Alert
- I - Incident
- P - Planned/Operational

Busy Periods: Clustering and Counts
Point events vs. duration events
An event that happens at a single moment shows as one marker. An event that spans a period of time - like a planned maintenance window - shows as two markers, for its start and end, connected by a line in the same color.

When events overlap
When several events happen close together, they group into a single gray marker showing a count (for example, a marker showing 2) so the chart stays readable. Click it to open an Events (2) panel on the right, listing every event in the group as its own card.

Counts for the current view
Open the Legend panel (see Filtering Events below) to see how many events of each type and status are in your current view - it updates as you change the time range.
Filtering Events
Events show up inside the same Legend panel you already use for your device series. Once the Events layer is on, Legend gains an Events section with a checkbox for each type - Alert, Incident, Planned/Operational - plus a live count next to each.
For Alert, the panel also breaks the count down by Severity (Critical, High, Medium, Low) and by Status (Open, Acknowledged, Resolved, Ignored), each shown as its own count. Uncheck a type to hide it from the chart.

Opening an Event
Click any event marker, range, or cluster to open a card in place on the chart: type, title, description, and its date/time.
- Planned/Operational and Incident cards show Updated by: — either the person who logged it, or System if it came from an alert - plus an Event details link.
- Alert cards additionally show Severity and Status pills once the alert has fired, with View trigger, View alert, and Event details links so you can jump straight to the source.

Click Event details on any card to open the full Event details view, with the event's Event title, Event type, Event time, End time (if it has one), Description, and Event labels.

Adding a New Event
Open the Legend panel and click + Add event to log a Planned/Operational or Incident event without leaving TimeView. (Alerts aren't created this way - they populate automatically from your alert rules.)
- In Legend, click + Add event.
- Fill in Event title, choose an Event type, and set Event time (and an optional End time for events that span a period).
- Add a Description if you'd like - up to 150 characters.
- Optionally add Event labels to help you find related events later.
- Save. The event appears on your timeline right away.

Turning the Events Layer On or Off
Events is now a data layer in the Customize chart drawer, alongside Schedule and Outside temperature: "Markers on the timeline for alerts, planned maintenance, and other notable occurrences." Turn it on or off the same way you would either of those.
Your choice is remembered, and when Events is on, it's listed under Added layers in the applied-changes summary along with any other active customizations.
