Glossary

This is a auto-generated Article of all your definitions within the glossary.

  • Admin

A role type that allows you to create other admins and users in the system and set and make changes to account settings.

  • Auto Correction

A layer on the Time View application that displays in red dots the data that was calculated based on receiving partial data instead of all of the data. The sensor sends data every 10 seconds and with 6 samples collected, the minute data is then derived and displayed. If not all of the 6 samples are collected, then whatever samples are collected are used in the aggregation. Many Auto Correction dots indicate poor RF communication between the sensor and Bridge (due to distance or interfering materials in its path).

  • Benchmarking

An Optimize application that takes devices within a site or sites across your scope in an account and compares them together with particular conditions that puts more context into the complete energy data picture.

  • Bridge

A network device that collects sensor data wirelessly and can deliver wired Pulse Meter data to the cloud-based platform or via a local Modbus server.

  • Bulk

A layer on the Time View application that displays in yellow dots the data that was uploaded once a Bridge came back online. Many Bulk dots indicate an unstable Bridge network connection.

  • CDD

A normalizing setting in the Benchmarking application that normalizes the selected data according to the Cooling Degree Days. CDD is the ambient temperature above which cooling is needed on each day (or part of a day).

  • CSV

A file type that stands for Comma Separated Values

  • CT

Current Transformer. A required piece of hardware for PAN-14 and PAN-42 sensor integrations.

  • Current

The raw data measured by the PAN-10, PAN-12, PAN-14, and PAN-42 sensors.

  • dBm

    Decibel-milliwatt. The units of RSSI.

  • Deployer User

A role type that has the same privileges as an admin but also has access to the Deployment Tool application. This allows the user to install all of the system and configure their settings and their appropriate Zone > Panel layout.

  • Device

An object that generates or consumes energy, located in a Panel, measured by a Panoramic Sensor or an Electricity Meter.

  • Electrical Hierarchy

An application that allows Deployer Users to establish parent to children relationships of monitored devices. This is important in ensuring the total of the site is not unintentionally inflated due to miscalculating sum of all devices versus the sum of all parent devices and the children devices are fed off of those parent devices.

  • Energy Flow

An application that presents the energy data in a Sankey diagram, showing the flow of energy between the different device categories, device types, and down to the individual devices.

  • HDD

A normalizing setting in the Benchmarking application that normalizes the selected data according to the Heating Degree Days. HDD is the ambient temperature above which heating is needed on each day (or part of a day).

  • Heat Map

An Optimize application that displays data per hour across the last 28 days and applies a color legend to indicate peak hours more easily.

  • Main

A measured device usually installed as an incoming panel energy source. Most Mains have other devices feeding off of it and if those devices are measured as well, it is essential that the site configures an Electrical Hierarchy to establish the parent role to the Mains.

  • Meter

    Pulse Meter or Utility Meter

  • Modbus

A locally based server option to collect our energy data. The two methods of Modbus we support are via TCP and via RTU

  • Modbus RTU

A method of Modbus that encodes the values in a standard big-endian binary format. This is a serial communication from the Bridge to the Modbus client using an RS-485 connection. RTU stands for Remote Terminal Unit.

  • Modbus TCP

A method of Modbus that uses the TCP/IP protocol suite communication over Ethernet networks. TCP stands for Transmision Control Protocol.

  • New Timeview

An updated version of Time View with more features available on the Optimize package.

  • Optimize

A paid package version of the system that grants you the full capabilities of the software platform.

  • PAN-10

A current sensor that is rated for devices operating on 0 - 63A current range.

  • PAN-12

A current sensor that is rated for devices operating 0 - 225A current range.

  • PAN-14

A current sensor that is connected to an external current transformer (CT) that has a 5A output to connect to the sensor.

  • Panel

An enclosure where you install the Panoramic Power sensors on the wires of the devices you wish to view their energy data.

  • Power Factor

A value between 0 - 1.0 representing the ratio of real power to apparent power. Measured by PAN-42 sensors. The higher the value, the more efficient the device is.

  • Power Meter

    PAN-42 sensor

  • RSSI

Radio Signal Strength Index. A parameter that represents the signal strength between the sensors and the Bridge. The ideal RSSI range for sensors is -30 dBm through -75 dBm.

  • sidebar

Navigation menu that holds all of the applications for your site and account. It can opened or collapsed at any time.

  • Tariff

A Site Setting that allows users to view their energy data in terms of Cost. Tariffs can be created in a Fixed or Time of Use style and you can have a specific Tariff per energy data type: Electricity, Heat, Water, Gas, Generation.

  • Time View

An application that displays your energy data on a graph.

  • Trigger

A rule that establishes an event that you would like to be notified of.

  • User

    A read-only role type.

  • Visualize

A free version of the system that grants you the ability to view your energy data and has limited trigger options.

  • Voltage

    Measured by the PAN-42 sensors.

  • Zone

An area where the Panels are physically located at a site.
